Refurbishment Approved !

Monday night’s Management Team Committee meeting gave a massive thumbs up to start work on the next stage of our journey to refurbishing the Club Bar and Deck Area .

This exciting project can now get formerly underway and first steps will be how to raise the money to achieve it. John Reynolds is developing a team of key people from each team at the Club to help work out how we can all get the funds together and do your bit for your Club.

Our Under 14's an encouraging 6-0 Win over Harrow last Sunday .

League Fixtures – how to know what’s going on!

This season , more than ever we are relying on “ClubBuzz” the Clubs web tool to provide us with everything we need and this includes fixtures which can be found on the Club Calendar.

So it should be easier and convenient now for every member to know about their games at anytime of day or night. We do though need to load more fixtures for this season hope that we will  shortly be publishing those.

Ladies 2’s star, Rachel Paddon, or “Superbrain” as she should be called, has collated all of the fixtures for every team, agreed timings and published that onto a Mindboggling spreadsheet. The Club Bar should be open eventually and when it is, if you see Rachel, maybe consider buying her a drink as a thank you for this super effort.

(In case you are wondering what pitch you are on , you can easily work it out by the time – in nearly all cases, apart from some Men’s 1’s fixtures, Games on Pitch 1 start on the hour or half hour , Pitch 2 at quarter past or quarter to ).

Tidy Up Sale

If anybody at the Club is perhaps moving into a new place, possibly University goers that aren’t in Halls (?) needs some furniture, we are clearing out some furniture at the Club tomorrow, including a new bed (still boxed) and various sofas . Prices will be whatever you chose to donate and you will need to collect within the next week.

Tomorrow’s pick of Pre-Season Matches for Mens and Ladies 1’s.

After the slight delay (we hope) in the start of the season , tomorrow’s games are now friendlies with home games for the Ladies 1’s against St Albans,  Mens 2’s run out against Wapping 2s ,together with a late game for Willows 7’s v Crostyx 4s , always a competitive and closely fought match to start the season’s local bragging rights.

Important Information about Club Kit .

As you know, the Club provides branded Club kit through the Club shop which is operated by Ali Bray. The Club shop provides income to the Club and thereby benefits all members. We are aware that in recent seasons, some Club kit has been provided, for a couple of teams, in good faith, from other sources. Whilst we have no wish to criticise or review the basis on which such kit was provided, it has become a source of embarrassment (as there is an agreement with TK) and at a recent Management Committee meeting, it was decided to reinforce the Club policy that the supply of Club branded kit (which includes our main sponsor’s name) can only be supplied through the Club shop. This means that any unauthorised branded kit will not be able to be used for Club matches so members should please make arrangements to wear authorised kit only. In addition, the Club badge / logo should not be used without the Club’s written permission.

Your co-operation on this will be greatly appreciated.

Wanted in The Bar (and elsewhere).

We have had some applications in respect of the Bar but are still collating this so if it is an area in which you are interested, there is still time to get in touch with the Club Office.

Ladies 1s Physio

There is still a requirement for a Physio for the Ladies First XI to work with the Team on a Wednesday evening and on Match Days. This is a paid role that would suit somebody starting out in this area and who wishes to get some real life experience in Sports Physio Therapy.

Exciting News from Arsenal

No, not Aubameyang finally signing a contract, but the fact that the club is in the final stages of formalising an agreement with former Arsenal FC and England Physios,  Colin and Gary Lewin.

They have recently opened a fantastic facility in New North Road, Hainault  and are likely to partner with Old Lought’s to help our members regain or retain fitness. More news to follow very shortly but in the meantime here’s a great picture of John Wright and Simon Beckley .
