Weekend Results round-up

U16 Boys finished in 5th place at the national finals held in Wakefield at the weekend after some very competitive hockey.

U18 Boys won their semi- final against Bournemouth on penalties and now go forward to the England Hockey Tier 2 finals to be held at Reading Hockey Club on 11th May

Both U14 Boys teams won their matches and will be competing in the Mercian League finals at Southgate HC on 28th April and England Hockey Tier 1 competition final on 11th May at Reading.

The U10 and U12 boys and girls will be competing in the regional round of the In2Hockey competition on 27th and 28th of April at Harleston Magpies.

Minis break for Easter

There will be no Minis training on Saturday 20th April as the club is closed for the Easter break.

Club Safeguarding Officer

Mary Jane Crowley has been the Club Safeguarding Officer for the last few years and has now decided to take a step back from the role next season. Thanks to her expertise and support the club have been able to develop policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment is provided for all especially the junior members of the club.

If anyone would be interested in helping the club out with this position please contact the Club Chairman Chairperson@oldloughtonians.co.uk. There is plenty of guidance from England Hockey on the processes and requirements, all ours being upto date due to our recent 'Club Mark' achievement. Prior knowledge is not essential but experience as a teacher or youth leaders may be an advantage.

May Day Mini Madness!

On 6 May we will be hosting our annual Mini Tournament ( which will hopefully not be madness ) but it is a big event and needs lots of help and goodwill from all of us parents, volunteering a little bit of time, chipping in make this a great success and fun day for all involved . There are all sorts of roles, not necessarily needing Hockey experience, from collecting scores in and giving them to the central score, to tidying up, to firing off the odd Tweet / photo and obviously also Umpiring.

Please let me know whether you can help, whether you can just put in an hour or all day, what sort of thing maybe you can do and mail, call or talk to me at the Club.

Essex Hockey will be holding their AGM on Thursday 9th May at Chelmsford Hockey Club

No player under the age of 18 should go on to the pitch without a coach, team manager or parent present.  Players should meet by the clubhouse and go to the pitches when instructed.
