Mens 7 v Thurrock 2
The Willows Woodsmen (Men’s 7’s) had a home tie against Thurrock and were looking to bounce back from their defeat the previous week. Did they or didn’t they? http://olhc.clubbuzz.co.uk/match_record/371621
All three Willows teams achieved excellent wins this weekend, meaning that they are now all at the top of their respective divisions.
Pitches
Our pitches have been in urgent need of a deep clean and this week Verde Recreo will be working around the clock from Sunday afternoon to Friday evening to clean both of our main pitches and the surrounding areas. Jamie Oxley has also kindly volunteered to spend two days spray cleaning the surrounding signage, fencing, stands and other infrastructure. The pitches will then be treated with microbes to prevent algae and other new growth. A new maintenance programme to keep the pitches healthy will then be implemented. Once the grounds have been disinfected we must do everything possible to avoid recontamination.
New signage is being erected asking players to try to ensure that they do not bring sand, grass or algae onto the pitches. Please do your bit by washing your shoes, stick, balls, goalie kit and any other kit which may have algae on it before you next play. This is a huge expenditure for the club and we want to do all we can to maintain the pitches in the best possible condition.
In the long term we will need to replace pitches which will be an enormous cost so the longer we can protect and maintain the pitches the better
