Reminder: Face Masks
Players should not defend at penalty corners (especially in post man or blocking positions) without face masks. England Hockey reinforces that it is the responsibility of players to provide their own face mask. Make this the first item on your Christmas list!
A Tale of True Sportsmanship
Within the first 10 seconds of the game one of our players received a nasty head injury and had to go off to hospital to get some stitches. The opposition captain immediately dropped his side down to ten men as we were a bare eleven so we could make a game of it. I thought this was great sportsmanship on his and the team’s part. I'm sure other teams may not have been so considerate in these circumstances.
If you have witnessed an act of good sportsmanship let me know as this often gets overshadowed by so many other things but is such an important part of the sport!
