Blast From The Past !!
Spot the players you know?
Pictured above the Indoor Squad that played the 1990 Televised Finals at Crystal Palace, some familiar faces amongst them. As we approach our 100th Season we’d be delighted to receive anything you may have, like pictures or memorabilia going back in time to illustrate the history of the Club.
Virtual London Youth Games – Week 4 https://www.londonyouthgames.org/virtual-games/
PLEASE GET INVOLVED, Redbridge are falling down the table. Let’s get as many people as possible to do the 1 mile run or the cricket challenge.
Here’s how it works.
- Complete the challenge and be sure to film it
- Upload the video to any social media platform (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok etc) or you can send it to London Youth Games privately/directly if you prefer
- Tag London Youth Games and use the hashtags #ThisIsLYG and #TeamRedbridge
- Log all completed scores on the LYG Virtual Games web page: https://www.londonyouthgames.org/virtual-games/ (this part is very important and the form is very simple)
- That’s it! Your entry is complete
Challenge 1: ‘1 Mile Relay Challenge’
Run 1 mile and then virtually pass on the baton to as many friends and teammates from your Borough as possible. The Borough with the most participants running 1 mile will score the most points.
Challenge 2: ‘Target Batting” Challenge
See video - https://youtu.be/2h8OXGrN-Uw
You have five attempts to hit any of the 3 targets when hitting a ball off a batting tee or other object. You will receive 1 point for each target you hit. The maximum score is 5. If you don’t have a cricket bat, a ball or a batting tee, get creative. You can use a frying pan, a pair of rolled up socks and a toilet roll. You can use any household objects as your targets. Download the Challenge Sheet for suggested adaptations and coaching tips.
Example videos of each challenge can be found on the London Youth Games site (link posted above) as well more information on The Games and how to adapt each challenge so that it is inclusive for everyone. You can also see recently completed challenges across our own social media pages.
