Changes to Social Hockey

This week sees the start of pre-season training for the Mens 1s/2s/3s and the Ladies 1s/2s/3s, so social hockey is going to change its format.

This week and next week: Thursday 16th August (8pm) and Thursday 23rd August (8pm) we are going to run pre-season specialist workshops for the lower teams.  Each workshop will focus on specific in-game areas, concentrating on set-up, strategy and tactics.   There will be a game during the second half of the workshop to put the ideas into practice.

Everyone is welcome, although these workshops are mainly designed for players from teams in the lower half of the club

Wanstead Festival – 16th September

Vision Redbridge Culture & Leisure will be running Wanstead Festival on Sunday 16th September on Christchurch Green, Wanstead (opposite high street shops).  The Club has been invited along to either have a stall or run a taster session which will provide an excellent opportunity to promote the club and raise the profile of hockey within the community. If you are able to spare an hour or two to come along and share your experiences of the club with potential members please let the office know.

This Girl Can Essex Festival 7th October

This festival is aimed at encouraging ladies of all abilities to come and have fun being active. With a range of activities taking place throughout the day they want to highlight the variety of opportunities and activities that take place in the Epping Forest local area and encourage women and girls to maybe try something new.  Once again if you ae able to spare a couple of hours to come along and inspire others to get involved please let the office know.

Social Media and the Club

Social media is an excellent way of communicating with members and the wider hockey community.  If you enjoy using Facebook, Twitter and Instagram then the Club has a job for you!  If you are able to give some of your time every week to post some items on the club’s accounts the office would like to hear from you.
