Hi Max et al,
It was great to see you after so many years and to meet your fine young men. Thanks for your support and also to Neil & Elaine who made the journey.
This was Canada’s first outing for a 60+ team and the results were actually better than the scores suggest;
Lost 5-0 vs South Africa
Lost 7-0 vs Australia
Lost 4-0 vs Scotland
These 3 are ranked in the top 6 in the world for our age group and a loss of 5-0 vs the US, the latter was hard to swallow.
We actually won 4-1 against France and I tipped in a short corner for my first goal; pretty happy with that. We have a rematch against France tomorrow and are hoping to put them to the sword again.
While I am here, I would like to remind Mick O’Malley of a conversation we had perhaps 3-4 years ago and he mentioned how much he enjoyed playing for Ireland. Well, thanks Mick, it was you who got me interested in Grandmasters hockey.
